Job Description

The Project Engineer is an integral member of the Engineering team. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to make sure they can complete a project within their budget and according to a schedule. Their duties include upholding project standards by researching compliance regulations, developing project implementation plans, and adjusting specifications for elements of a project. The project Engineer provides technical support to construction staff under the supervision of the project manager or engineering manager. This role works collaboratively with project management, engineering, workshop team as well as supporting services including, Supply Chain, HSE & Quality, suppliers, and contractors.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

· Conduct regular meetings with clients to ensure clarification and meet specific requirements in a timely manner.

· Delegate tasks to team members according to their individual skill sets, experience and abilities to ensure efficient completion of the project.

· Maintain budgets and make adjustments according to needs as they arise.

· Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals.

· Document and report project progress to stakeholders and clients.

· Ad Hoc responsibilities including but not limited to developing and maintaining project documents and schedules, preparing project related reports, coordinating project meetings and workshops requirements and implementing and monitoring project plans.

· Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables.

· Coordinating with 3rd party vendors, subcontractors, and supply chain management to ensure successful management of vendors and orders, ensuring sharing of information for relayed for project execution.

· Project Management of Inventory Builds and Manufactured / Sales Products

· Ensuring close-out of projects, participation in AAR and lessons learned.

· Assisting in the development and the maintenance of all OPG forms, work instructions and processes.

· This role consists of both on site (out of office/offshore) and office based duties, generally speaking the applicant interested in this role should assume 50% offshore time for this position.

Job Duties:

· Assist in the development of cost estimates

· Review plans and other technical documents

· Author field status reports with the ability to accurately convey problems with recommended solutions/ways forward.

· Answer questions regarding the scope and/or schedule of a project

· Monitor costs and project progress

· Maintain control of all project documentation

· Create, manage and track RFI’s from the field to upper management.

· Maintain/update project records

· Assist PM in creating and distributing project schedules

· Assist project team with conflict resolution between owner, contractor, and subcontractor

· Assist PM/Client with permits and environmental due diligence (i.e. One Call)

· Understand industry standard practices and regulations

· Coordinate project change-order management, creation and recommendations

· Assist the project team with site safety documentation and coordination

· Create engineering plans/drawings (i.e seafastening drawings, critical lift plans, confined space entry plans etc)

· Author procedural documentation in the form of workpacks/mission plans per the direction of management.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or other relevant degree).

· Minimum 3 years of project support and planning/scheduling experience.

· Experience with 2-D Autocad and basic engineering drawings.

· Proficient in Microsoft software-Word, Excel, Access, and Project.

· Evidence of strong organizational and communication skills.

· Working knowledge of document control systems and project design.

· Experience raising requisitions as well as working with ERP and CRM systems.

· Experience in project bid preparation.

· Ability to oversee projects independently.

· Ability to read and understand design drawings and schematics.

· Previous experience within the marine and/or oil and gas industry.

· Ability to work independently with minimal managerial supervision.

· Demonstrated understanding of project management concepts.

· Previous subsea experience (desirable).

· Understanding of Engineering Process.

· Identify and drive the appropriate application of new technologies to provide greater effectiveness in project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

· 3 – 5 years of experience preferred in a project support and/or planning/scheduling role.

· Maritime Experience preferred.
