Position: Able Body Seaman

Location: Offshore, yard in Belle Chasse, LA

Description:
We are looking for able body seaman to join our team and assist in the operation and maintenance of our ship. As an able body seaman, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of vessel. This includes standing watch, operating, and maintaining deck equipment, handling lines, and rigging, and assisting with the loading and unloading of cargo. You will also be responsible for general maintenance and cleaning duties, as well as participating in emergency drills and safety training. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team. Previous experience as an able body seaman is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Stand watch and maintain a lookout for other vessels, navigational hazards, and changes in weather conditions.
• Operate and maintain deck equipment, including winches, cranes, and hoists.
• Handle lines and rigging to secure the vessel and assist with docking and undocking.
• Assist with loading and unloading of cargo, including the use of forklifts and other equipment.
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning duties, including painting, chipping, and cleaning decks and equipment.

Requirements:

• Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Able Seaman endorsement
• Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• Basic safety training and certification, including Basic Firefighting, Personal Survival Techniques, and First Aid/CPR
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic drug testing.
• Must have a valid Lifeboat Certificate
• Good physical condition and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions.
