Opelousas area manufacturing / fabrication facility is currently seeking a full-time fabrication associate with leadership qualities. This position would require the person to work in fabrication environment using various types of cutting and tooling equipment as well as assisting with shipping and receiving and upkeep of the materials yard. From this position, the person would transition into a lead position, assisting with training and supervision of other workers. Ideal candidate will have leadership skills, previous working experience with power tools and powered cutting and drilling equipment, willing to learn new things, computer literate with working knowledge of Excel, and good reading, math, and measurement skills. Previous manufacturing, warehouse, leadership, plant, and/or experience reading blueprints / schematics / CAD drawings would be a huge plus. Organization, attention to detail, communication skills, and conflict resolution are important in this position.
$16-20/hr (DOE)

Other days may be needed based on projects.
